Symantec beta testing Norton 360 version 3.0

Symantec Corp. of Cupertino, Calif. is beta testing version 3.0 of Norton 360, which is designed to reduce scan time to minimize interruptions.

The software also includes network monitoring, which lets users scan devices on their networks, and Norton Safe Web, which rates Web sites for security.

Other features include: multiple backup sets, which lets users backup data online, to their local hard drive or to a CD; Pulse Updates, which are designed to provide continuous protection; and Identity Safe, designed to manage user names and passwords for various sites.

The beta version is free and downloadable from this site.
