Next Windows XP service pack may be only weeks away

Who said April is the cruellest month? According to TechARP.com, which seems to have a mole within Redmond, Microsoft will release Windows XP SP3 fairly shortly, which could represent the last major investment the company makes in the OS — unless our petition helps change their minds.

It makes no sense for companies to suddenly stop using XP (which is finally working great), and move to Vista (which is still brand new and has compatibility issues!). The move for any company (both users and software developers) would cost billions of dollars worldwide. This amount is on the conservative side. The timing is also the worse because of the recent events with the American reccession, who can afford such a move? MSFT should hold off on the elimination of XP until people, and more importantly companies, are comfortable with Vista. MSFT should also keep an eye on the economy, as companies will instead turn to Linux instead of Windows. MSFT needs to start listening to their customers for a change!
